Fees and Coverage

Psychological services are generally covered or partially covered by extended health care insurance plans, such as:

• Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP - formerly GSMIP)
• Blue Cross
• RCMP and DND benefit plans
• First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB)
• Motor Vehicle Insurance (for services provided in conjuction with a motor vehicle accident)
  
  

Typically, fees are paid at the time of service, and a receipt is given to you for reimbursement by your insurer.  Please note that reimbursement from extended health plans may require a written referral from your physician.

OHIP does not cover psychological services, but fees that are not reimbursed through extended health plans are tax deductible as a medical expense.

Fees are set by each individual therapist, and can be discussed in your initial telephone contact.
